Tatum est arrivé!

Always seeking opportunities to improve the bloodlines of its breeding stock, Haras Endurance went after its new stallion that has the most time-honored attributes and with the best results. This horse is Tatum des Graves, a one and a half year old colt bred by Xavier Perringerard and a son of Varoussa and Dormane.

Varoussa became famous by crossing the finishing line of the World Championship of 2000, in Compiègne (France), in first place, confirming the expectations of most endurance enthusiasts at the time.

Furthermore, his arrival was marked in the history of the sport the moment the rider astride him – Maya Perringerard – crossed the line hand in hand with her compatriot Cecile Miletto. While the latter sold her horse, Dynamik, to the Arabs (a deal that was widely commented on at the time), Xavier, Maya’s father and owner of the mare, decided to keep her with him. Eight years later, the second son of the mare is arriving in Brazil, with the mission of contributing toward the gene pool of Haras Endurance and forming part of the history of Brazilian breeding.

Tatum’s sire is Dormane, stallion of the French National Stud and highly esteemed in the world of endurance. Son of Manganate – a horse famous for his performance, and that of his sons and daughters, in Arabian purebred flat races – Dormane has several descendents on the French tracks. In this country alone, his descendents have thus far obtained 44 rankings among the first 5 places in long-distance rides (119kms or above), and 12 victories, with special emphasis on one in Florac.

Tatum is currently getting used to his new environment, adapting to the Brazilian climate. After this phase, he should mix together with colts of the same age and will only start to impregnate mares in the future.

Haras Endurance is extremely pleased to own one of the only sons of a world champion and is eagerly looking forward to telling the Brazilian universe of endurance about his offspring and to making them available.
